Cupping involves alot of very loud slurping, which Fortune referred to as a thunderslap. As we were all slurping coffee off our cupping spoons as loudly as we could manage, a 20-something girl walked into the store, stared around her for a minute, and blurted out: "What have I walked in to, here?!?". Someone said it was a private party and the poor girl left without saying another word.
